Why Israel Should Be Concerned
November 16, 2008 Posted by Crystal Samples
In this article from AP, Gutkin states:
Eight years of unflinching support from President George W. Bush has yielded no peace. So while most Israelis appreciated Bush’s backing, others wonder if a tougher approach — maybe even some arm twisting here and there — might not have been better.Their fear stems from the demographic threat posed by Israel’s occupation of Arab lands, as the size of the Arab population approaches the Jewish one and endangers Israel’s existence as a Jewish and democratic state. A true friend of Israel is an American leader who will work not only to protect Israel from external enemies, but to disentangle itself from the 41-year-occupation — or so the argument goes. For Obama, that could mean abandoning what many see as a policy of blanket support in favor of some muscular diplomacy, such as pressuring Israel to stop expanding settlements on land Palestinians claim for a future state.
Occupation? That’s Orwellian double speak for “the Jews have no right to be there.” Why is this never said about any Arab occupation in the Middle East? Both Jews and Arabs have been living there since time began.
There is more than enough land for a new Arab country - if they even want one - in present Arab land. But that’s the thing - they don’t want a country - they want Israel to cease being one. That is what will happen if Israel cedes any more land to terrorists.
And that is unacceptable to any right thinking person.
The Next Attack

On November 9, 2008, the London daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported, citing “a source close to the Al-Qaeda leadership in Yemen,” that Osama bin Laden had ordered a new attack on the U.S. which will be “far greater than the 9/11 attacks.”
The paper said the source was “a former Al-Qaeda commander who is still in touch with… the organization leadership, and who asked to remain anonymous for security reasons.”
According to the source, the attack is meant “to change the world [both] politically and economically,” and is planned for the near future. Source
Terrorism has not gone away nor has the war on it ended. America may have been lulled into a false sense of security because we have not been hit by a major terrorist attack since September 11, 2001. We can thank President George Bush and his team of advisors for keeping this country safe in the last seven years.
After the recent election where an ultra liberal Democrat won, many in the Middle East rejoiced because they see a man who will not fight back as Bush has done. They sense and smell weakness and weakness invites attacks.
When the attack does come, will Obama fight back? Will he raise the white flag of surrender and give this country up? Time will tell his reaction and whether or not the American people still have the will to fight an enemy so intent on our destruction.
On this, the birthday of the United States Marine Corps, and tomorrow on Veteran’s Day, let us pause to thank God Almighty for the brave men and women who serve in our armed forces. They stand on the front lines of freedom and pay the price daily for you and I.
Israel launches first airstrike on Gaza since June

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Israel launched an airstrike on Gaza early Wednesday after its troops clashed with Hamas militants who fired mortars into Israel, leaving six Palestinians dead. It was the first battle since a June truce mostly quieted violence in the volatile territory.
The Israeli army said the clashes erupted late Tuesday after its forces uncovered a tunnel in central Gaza that militants planned to use to abduct Israeli soldiers. It said a special army unit headed to the area to destroy the tunnel. One Palestinian was killed in fierce gunbattles that ensued.
Hamas then fired mortars across the Gaza border into southern Israel and Israel answered with the airstrike in the early hours of Wednesday, killing five suspected Palestinian militants, Israeli and Palestinian officials said. The army said the airstrike aimed at the mortar launchers and hit them.
The clashes threatened to unravel the cease-fire between Israel and Palestinian militant groups reached in June after months of indirect negotiations. The deal halted a deadly cycle of Palestinian rocket attacks and Israeli reprisals, though sporadic rocket attacks on southern Israel have persisted. To read more…
Why doesn’t Hamas quit firing rockets? Why does no one else ask this question?
Report: Ahmadinejad calls U.S. Syria raid ‘a blind and savage act’

By Yoav Stern, Haaretz Correspondent
Iran’s official news agency says President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has condemned a recent U.S. raid inside Syria near its border with Iraq as a savage act.
IRNA says Ahmadinejad called his Syrian counterpart, Bashar Assad, Friday to express Iranian support.
The report quotes Ahmadinejad as calling Sunday’s raid a blind and savage act.
Washington has not formally acknowledged the raid but U.S. officials, speaking to the media on condition of anonymity, have said the target of the raid was Badran Turki al-Mazidih, a top al-Qaida in Iraq figure who operated a network of smuggling fighters into the war-torn country. The Iraqi national also goes by the name Abu Ghadiyah. To read more…
Rather than being “blind and savage”, I thought it rather precise and surgical myself.
Iranian source: "Quake" Saturday was nuclear bomb test
October 30, 2008 Posted by Crystal Samples
Israel Insider exclusively reports that a seismic event this weekend in southern Iran may in fact have been a massive underground nuclear bomb test. According to the USGS, the tremor measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale took place Saturday night, October 25 just before midnight Iran time, with its epicenter at 26.70°N, 55.02°E, just north of the strategic straits of Hormuz, opposite Abu Dhabi.
The claim that the tremor was in fact a nuclear test came from an Iranian nuclear scientist who claims to be working in uranium enrichment for the project. A report published by Israel Insider on Friday, October 24 included a captionless map that portrayed the area of the seismic event that occurred the following night, based on location information previously provided by the Iranian source.
Israel Insider’s source reports that the test is in fact the second in a series. A 4.8 Richter scale event occurred on October 21 with an epicenter (26.70N, 54.96E) within 5 km (3 miles) of the October 25 tremor.
Israeli and foreign sources have long speculated that Iran has been in possession of ready nuclear bombs but would only begin testing them when a full production line for nuclear weapons is in place.
The source indicated that Iran is being assisted by China and North Korea. Israel Insider’s Iranian source reports that two “nuclear rockets” have been completed and are intended for use against the Jewish State in the coming months.
The site of the test and the development facility are believed to be in close proximity. The location appears to have been carefully selected. The area is exposed to significant seismic activity, which could serve to mask nuclear tests, although the recent spike in activity in that specific area significantly deviates from historical trends. A tremor measuring 6.2 struck the area on September 10, 2008 (its epicenter was 80km or 50 miles due west), the largest seismic event in the area in more than 33 years. Source article
Syria asks U.N. council to prevent new U.S. attacks

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Syria called on the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday to take action to prevent a repeat of a weekend U.S. attack on Syrian territory, and to hold the United States accountable.
The United States has declined officially to confirm or deny U.S. involvement in the raid close to Syria’s border with Iraq, in which residents and Syrian officials say U.S. troops landed by helicopter and killed eight civilians on Sunday.
Perhaps if Syria would quit harboring terrorists people wouldn’t feel the need to pursue and terrorists within their borders? Hmm?
Peace talks on hold as Israel prepares for February 10 vote

JERUSALEM (AFP) – Israel’s political parties decided on Tuesday to hold early elections on February 10, a decision that will leave US-backed Middle East peace talks in limbo for at least three more months.
“Following a meeting of the Knesset factions it was decided that the elections will be held on February 10,” said Knesset spokesman Giora Pordes, adding that parliament will adjourn November 11.
Both Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni’s centrist Kadima party and the right-wing Likud party of hawkish former premier Benjamin Netanyahu, the two frontrunners for prime minister, had pressed for holding elections as soon as possible.
President Shimon Peres formally initiated the election process on Monday after Livni failed to assemble a new government coalition.
Livni, 50, was elected as Kadima leader last month and hopes to take over as prime minister from Ehud Olmert, who stepped down in September over graft allegations but remains as caretaker premier.
Earlier on Tuesday, two Israeli ministers called for a freeze on already stalled talks with Syria and the Palestinians until a new government is sworn in.
Perhaps more reasonable heads will prevail once Bibi is elected!!
Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes

How do Muslims see Barack Hussein Obama? They have three choices: either as he presents himself – someone who has “never been a Muslim” and has “always been a Christian“; or as a fellow Muslim; or as an apostate from Islam.
Reports suggests that while Americans generally view the Democratic candidate having had no religion before converting at Reverend Jeremiah Wrights’s hands at age 27, Muslims the world over rarely see him as Christian but usually as either Muslim or ex-Muslim.
Lee Smith of the Hudson Institute explains why: “Barack Obama’s father was Muslim and therefore, according to Islamic law, so is the candidate. In spite of the Quranic verses explaining that there is no compulsion in religion, a Muslim child takes the religion of his or her father. … for Muslims around the world, non-American Muslims at any rate, they can only ever see Barack Hussein Obama as a Muslim.” In addition, his school record from Indonesia lists him as a Muslim
Thus, an Egyptian newspaper, Al-Masri al-Youm, refers to his “Muslim origins.” Libyan ruler Mu‘ammar al-Qaddafi referred to Obama as “a Muslim” and a person with an “African and Islamic identity.” One Al-Jazeera analysis calls him a “non-Christian man,” a second refers to his “Muslim Kenyan” father, and a third, by Naseem Jamali, notes that “Obama may not want to be counted as a Muslim but Muslims are eager to count him as one of their own.”
A conversation in Beirut, quoted in the Christian Science Monitor, captures the puzzlement. “He has to be good for Arabs because he is a Muslim,” observed a grocer. “He’s not a Muslim, he’s a Christian,” replied a customer. Retorted the grocer: “He can’t be a Christian. His middle name is Hussein.” Arabic discussions of Obama sometimes mention his middle name as a code, with no further comment needed.
“The symbolism of a major American presidential candidate with the middle name of Hussein, who went to elementary school in Indonesia,” reports Tamara Cofman Wittes of the Brookings Institution from a U.S.-Muslim conference in Qatar, “that certainly speaks to Muslims abroad.” Thomas L. Friedman of the New York Times found that Egyptians “don’t really understand Obama’s family tree, but what they do know is that if America — despite being attacked by Muslim militants on 9/11 — were to elect as its president some guy with the middle name ‘Hussein,’ it would mark a sea change in America-Muslim world relations.”
Some American Muslim leaders also perceive Obama as Muslim. The president of the Islamic Society of North America, Sayyid M. Syeed, told Muslims at a conference in Houston that whether Obama wins or loses, his candidacy will reinforce that Muslim children can “become the presidents of this country.” The Nation of Islam’s Louis Farrakhan called Obama “the hope of the entire world” and compared him to his religion’s founder, Fard Muhammad.
But this excitement also has a dark side – suspicions that Obama is a traitor to his birth religion, an apostate (murtadd) from Islam. Al-Qaeda has prominently featured Obama’s stating “I am not a Muslim” and one analyst, Shireen K. Burki of the University of Mary Washington, sees Obama as “bin Laden’s dream candidate.” Should he become U.S. commander in chief, she believes, Al-Qaeda would likely “exploit his background to argue that an apostate is leading the global war on terror … to galvanize sympathizers into action.”
Mainstream Muslims tend to tiptoe around this topic. An Egyptian supporter of Obama, Yasser Khalil, reports that many Muslims react “with bewilderment and curiosity” when Obama is described as a Muslim apostate; Josie Delap and Robert Lane Greene of the Economist even claim that the Obama-as-apostate theme “has been notably absent” among Arabic-language columnists and editorialists.
That latter claim is inaccurate, for the topic is indeed discussed. At least one Arabic-language newspaper published Burki’s article. Kuwait’s Al-Watan referred to Obama as “a born Muslim, an apostate, a convert to Christianity.” Writing in the Arab Times, Syrian liberal Nidal Na‘isa repeatedly called Obama an “apostate Muslim.”
In sum, Muslims puzzle over Obama’s present religious status. They resist his self-identification as a Christian while they assume a baby born to a Muslim father and named “Hussein” began life a Muslim. Should Obama become president, differences in Muslim and American views of religious affiliation will create problems.
Another alternate theory is that he is a Muslim, but is conveniently lying about it - which is permissible in Islam - until the moment is right. Time will tell…
The End of the Lakeland Revival

We all knew it had to end sometime (see article here ). Many thought it should have ended with the disappearance of Todd Bentley and his moral failure. The day it stopped for me conclusively (I had my doubts before then) was June 23, 2008 when the public ordination took place.
Specifically, the part in the service where this video is taken
On stage, with perhaps 10-15 other supposedly prophetic men and women watching, Stacy manifests what I believe to be demonic head shaking. Not one person, stopped her or led her offstage to be delivered.
Furthermore, once Bentley’s moral failures had been revealed - the question then became - why did none of the supposedly prophetic men or women on stage perceive anything amiss in Todd’s life? They all, with one accord, heap prophetic praises upon him.
Having been charismatic for years, but not particularly acquainted with this sect of Christianity, I began to investigate those in Bentley’s circle of friends. What I found was the heretical Latter Rain theology mixed with New Age concepts of “portals” and astral projection. Experiences trumped the word of God and many people were buying into the fake shaking, moaning and twitching that had been passing for “being in the Spirit”.
Two examples of this nonsense immediately come to mind - ekstasis worship and John Crowder. The first video is what Patricia King endorses and the second is an example of the blasphemy of John Crowder.
It is my opinion, that this is not a case of just a few people with a few minor questionable doctrines, but rather a movement that is heresy itself. Please examine carefully and prayerfully anything said by anyone who associates with this group.
Israeli general warns Hezbollah of harsh response

JERUSALEM - Israel will use “disproportionate force” if Hezbollah guerrillas attack Israel, a senior military commander said in published comments Friday, adding that any village used to fire missiles against the Jewish state will be destroyed.
Maj. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot, who commands forces along Israel’s northern border, issued a similar threat against Syria.
Eizenkot spoke to the Yediot Ahronot daily more than two years after Israel fought an inconclusive 33-day war against Hezbollah. That war, in which Hezbollah lobbed some 4,000 rockets and missiles into Israel, was widely seen as a failure, and Eizenkot has been busy rehabilitating the army’s readiness since taking up his post in the aftermath of the fighting.
Eizenkot said Israel would show no mercy on Lebanese villages that harbor Hezbollah fighters. Israel has repeatedly complained that Hezbollah fighters used residential areas for cover, limiting Israel’s ability to respond.
Eizenkot stressed that this is “not a recommendation,” but a plan approved by the highest levels. “If fire is carried out from Shiite villages in Lebanon, this is the operational plan: Very aggressive fire.”
He said Israel would use what he called the “Dahiya doctrine,” a reference to the southern suburbs of Beirut where Hezbollah’s headquarters are located. During the 2006 war, Israel destroyed dozens of buildings in Dahiya, including the offices of Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah.
“What happened in the Dahiya quarter in Beirut in 2006 will happen in every village from which Israel is fired upon. We will apply disproportionate force upon it and cause great damage and destruction there,” he said. “From our standpoint, these are not civilian villages, they are military bases.”
In the interview, Eizenkot warned Syria against launching missiles into Israel. “Everything I said about Hezbollah, regarding punishment and severe harm, is all the more true for a country that has assets.” He also indicated Syria could be punished for Hezbollah’s actions.
Syria is a key backer of Hezbollah. Despite the recent resumption of indirect peace talks with Syria, Israel believes the Damascus regime continues to help rearm Hezbollah.
There was no immediate response from Hezbollah or Syria. But Nasrallah has warned in recent weeks that Hezbollah’s response to a future Israeli incursion will be more fierce than what took place in 2006. Source article
Let’s hope Israel stays with that battle plan and doesn’t cave into bleeding hearts when those villages start being destroyed.
